Actuarial Internship - Summer 2017 Apply
Liberty Mutual Insurance Actuaries use their analytical talents to resolve thought-provoking business problems and bring value to our Customers. They work in a collaborative and dynamic work environment where the challenges are on going. Our Actuaries regularly make recommendations to management and are partners in the decision making process. They provide business advice and support senior management by providing analysis critical to the key functions of our business.
Many of our Actuarial Students began their Liberty Mutual Insurance careers as Actuarial Interns!
Actuarial Interns are an important part of our Development Program. Our Interns perform meaningful work in an environment that supports their learning.
Actuarial Interns have assignments in many of our lines of business, as well as our Corporate Office. Interns gain experience in Commercial and Personal, and Agency Markets companies. They learn about Personal and Commercial products while working in a variety of disciplines such as financial reporting, ratemaking, reinsurance, research, reserving, underwriting, etc.
At Liberty Mutual Insurance, our Interns:
- Gain knowledge about the insurance business and acquire actuarial experience working with one of our many Actuarial groups
- Assist in the preparation of rate level indications
- Perform various actuarial analyses under supervision
- Attend formal training where they learn key actuarial concepts
- Have an Actuarial Student 'Buddy' to answer questions, help guide them in their first days, and support them during their Internship
Although we have Actuaries throughout our organization, our Actuarial Interns typically begin their Liberty Mutual Insurance experience at one of several campuses, including Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Dover, NH; Keene, NH; New York, NY and Seattle, WA.
