Job Responsibilities

Department Overview This is an individual contributor technical lead role reporting to the Director of the Embedded Software here at Fortinet. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the design, implementation and the integration for Fortinet Security device using Opentstack and Cisco APIC. You will also have a great opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and experience working alongside some of the best and brightest software engineers in the network/security/SDN industry.

• This person will participate in the development and maintenance of the existing and next generation security product suite.
• The candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance or core platform modules of the appliances.
• The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the software development life cycle for the applicable projects, including gathering requirements, design, implementation and deployment.
• This position requires software development skills focusing on SDN Integration, such as Openstack and Cisco APIC.
• Ownership of significant areas of the code for both new feature/functionality development as well as to maintain/redesign of the existing areas of the products.
• Continuous focus and contribution in the areas of performance, availability & scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the product. 
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 years of overall software development experience
• Experience working with Object oriented Programming would be preferred
• Must have 3 years of solid hands-on application development experience Python
• Good hands on experience with XML and Relational database (Oracle/MS SQL/MySQL)
• Experience with Object Oriented Development using C
• Familiar with Linux/Unix work environment.
• Strong professional experience with large scale data structure (including XML) and algorithms
• Hands-on experience with unit testing, version control and release/deployment tools
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in a team or customer environment

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or related area
