Groupon’s Engineering Team builds high-scale, web and mobile e-commerce applications that run non-stop around the globe.  We work in small collaborative teams to architect massively scalable and reliable systems.  As part of our Silicon Valley technology team, you'll use a variety of technologies and development practices to build pioneering local commerce applications used by hundreds of millions of people.

As a back-end engineer at Groupon, you'll have a direct impact on our customers and merchants.

• Designing high-performance RESTful web services serving billions of requests a day
• Personalizing content and promotions based on user interests
• Delivering billions of e-mail messages efficiently
• Unraveling the myriad of payment systems available globally
• Optimizing placement of inventory across fulfillment centers
• Building large-scale infrastructure using open-source technologies

Our solutions utilize various programming languages including Java and Ruby. We love open source and big data, and we work with frontend technologies like JavaScript, Ember.js, Angular.js, Node.js
