Job Purpose

Take a leadership role as an automotive analyst to track and analyze global new energy vehicle trends, energy and environmental policies and regulatory requirements, standards, and impacts of electric vehicle technology advancements on automotive company’s business model, product development, services, and consumers’ behavior and preferences.

Responsibilities

·        Summarize and synthesize technical, industry and policy information from a variety of sources

·        Identify partnership opportunities

·        Create and deliver reports and recommendations to the management team

·        Analyze intelligence, data and information, to create hypothesis regarding the future implications to the company in the areas of national and international vehicle emission standards and vehicle technology options, battery and motor development, energy, environmental, and infrastructure implications of electric vehicle growth.

·        Attend technical/industry conferences, meetings and events to acquire vital information needed to for reports or strategic recommendations

·        Frequently interact, network and cooperate with government, suppliers, academia, OEMs and other organizations in the topical areas above

·        Work together with other divisions within the firm to address challenges related to emerging automotive technology and policies

Requirements

·        Bachelor's degree in government policy, energy, environmental science, civil and transportation engineering, urban planning, business administration, economics, or related discipline

·        3 - 5 years of experience in government, the automotive, or related industry

·        Thorough understanding of the new energy vehicle industry

·        Understanding of the latest disruptive trends in battery, motor and control technologies

·        Familiarity with technology start-ups

Preferred Skills

·        Strong communication skills with various levels and groups

·        Knowledge and understanding of automotive technology and operations; energy and environmental policy;  government regulations

·        Prior experience in automotive industry market research or consumer behavioral analysis
