Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering
Description
We are looking for an experienced hands on infrastructure engineer to lead key infrastructure projects and initiatives to join a world class team of highly motivated software engineers and infrastructure experts to deliver high quality infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, automation, workflows, and validation tools to help Salesforce scale to the phenomenal growth we are experiencing.

As a Senior/Lead Infrastructure Engineer you have working knowledge on infrastructure systems & release engineering and will be responsible for leading key projects in design, development, and post-release support of tools, frameworks, validation tools, that are used by a variety of internal teams at Salesforce.com. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, work in a fast paced, team driven environment, is problem solver, and have great communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and architectural leadership for the infrastructure Engineering teams
• Provide solutions for production/customer facing applications with premium uptime.
• Design, implement and maintain the infrastructure used to power our service
• Automate the deployment, scaling and monitoring of the platform using latest technologies.
• Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience and performance
• Be the point of contact and advocate to other teams in different areas for respective domain/area
• Provide mentorship to other team members
• Create, maintain and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members

Basic Requirements

• 5-8+ years automation development and infrastructure experience in any one or more of these following disciplines: system engineering, release engineering, security, storage or network engineering
• 5+ years design and implementation experience of large infrastructure projects with multiple teams
• 5+ years of in depth and hands on programming experience in Java, C++, C#
• 3+ years experience with script languages Perl, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Shell
• 3+ years of experience with Databases and SQL
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with outstanding attention to details
• Bachelor's Degree in CS or any engineering discipline
