GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for the recruitment and retention of Simon MS in Health Care Management degree program participants in New York City. Manage prospect outreach and candidate development, conducting interviews and information receptions to develop applicant pool. Monitor and report progress to achieve established goals. Support Simon business development efforts with health care institutions, insurers, affiliated corporations, associations and individuals, promoting Simon offerings and recruiting qualified applicants for admissions consideration. On-site support of weekend class days, ensuring needs of students and faculty members are met in conjunction with host facility and Rochester- and New York City-based Simon and University of Rochester colleagues. Co-coordinate residency week, orientation and commencement plans with Simon colleagues.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
With considerable latitude to exercise independent judgment and decision-making: Develop and prioritize prospect list and work with applicant pool to meet enrollment goals. Schedule and conduct MS in Health Care Management admissions and informational interviews and lead qualified candidates through the application process. Monitor and report progress on monthly basis. Develop and execute tactical plan for MS in Health Care management prospect outreach and corporate engagement, notably with HR and line management and alumni support. Work with Simon Health Care business development colleagues on institutional enrollment plans and guide prospects through the application process. Seek key customer segments, corporations, associations, and primary decision-makers for promoting the Simon MS degree program in NYC and make cold calls to increase awareness of and interest in our program. Schedule and conduct admissions and informational interviews. Coordinate formal group presentations at open houses, information sessions and industry events. Utilize software provided for efficient communication, prospect tracking and reporting and provide status reports and forecasts using market trends and competitive data.
ON-SITE MS PROGRAM AND SIMON SCHOOL/UR SUPPORT:
Ensure logistics are in place for class days in Manhattan. In rotation with other NYC staff members, be present full-time on weekend class days to support faculty and student needs and act as liaison to Rochester resources. Serve as focal point for students, managing inquiries and resolving issues to support student satisfaction and retention. Coordinate student logistics for residency weeks (travel, etc), orientation and graduation with Rochester staff. Keep current on developments in the Simon School (programs, research, awards, ranking, placements, news...). Assist Simon Higher and University of Rochester colleagues with NYC event details and logistics. Attend events as appropriate for recruitment and networking opportunities. Refer counseling issues to Program Director.
MARKETING:
Implement agreed-upon marketing tactics with Executive Director and NYC staff as required. Recommend social media activities consistent with the marketing plan and communications objectives. Assist in creation of web-based and print collateral to aid brand identity, program awareness and conversion of prospect to applicant. Benchmark the marketing tactics of Simon's competitors in New York City (Health Care Management, MBA)
REQUIREMENTS:
BS/BA minimum requirement with minimum 1 year experience in business development or higher education recruitment, student services or program management; MS or MBA with marketing or finance concentration preferable; Familiarity with New York City desirable; Familiarity with graduate education market desirable (as student or employee); Excellent English grammar and conversational skills; Ability to make cold calls and work at independent pace to deliver target objectives; Demonstrated teamwork skills and professionalism; Understanding of social media tools used by working professionals; Competency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint in particular); Self-starter yet willing to take direction; Creative thinker yet grounded in economic (budget) realities.
