Position Description
A new college intern will have the opportunity to enter into an IT role, focused on building healthcare technology solutions. Candidates will engage in all aspects of the IT solution lifecycle focused on the delivery of computer-based systems from the design process through a finished state for internal and external customers.
Candidates learn technical problem-solving skills, clinical applications, software administration and infrastructure delivery. This includes hands-on learning experiences to build a career within Healthcare IT through coaching and mentoring, a variety of IT assignments, teamwork, ongoing reviews and defined deliverables.
As part of the team the candidate will have the opportunity to experience project management, business and systems analysis, testing, and support. Candidates will be working in a collaborative environment to take projects from original concept through final implementation with first hand exposure to interface with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
Opportunities also exist to rotate assignments across MSH IT functions.
Leadership Opportunities
Candidates can expect engagement with senior leadership via project reviews as well as challenging and rewarding IT experience in a variety of areas. Business skills are developed via corporate sponsored courses.
Key Responsibilities
1) Contribute to the strategic goals of the organization by assisting with proposals which include: cost, solution selection and business drivers using PMO provided templates
2) Be a part of a cross functional team to ensure delivery of IT projects on time, on budget and meeting scope and quality expectations
3) Assist with IT project portfolio by keeping the project health details updated and all required project artifacts in the SharePoint documentation repository
4) Contribute to the constant improvement of standard Operating Procedures
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Entry level experience in business analysis, requirements definition, and deployment of business requirements to information systems
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program such as computer science, management information systems, clinical informatics or related field and scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2018 or sooner
Critical Skills
Course experience in one of the following:
· Programming
· Business information systems
· Business / systems analysis
3.2 minimum GPA
