The Human Capital department is currently a team of over 15 professionals committed to attracting, developing, and retaining excellent staff across the firm. The team is comprised of four functions: Talent Acquisition, Learning and Professional Development, Employee Relations, and Benefits. Human Capital staff are based in the Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, and London offices.
Job Overview:
As part of the Human Capital department, Learning and Professional Development drives the momentum of CRA through the professional growth of our consulting employees. We deliver relevant, timely, action-oriented training; provide opportunities for our people to establish relationships across practices and geographies, and cultivate on-the-job learning. The Human Capital Intern will provide support to this high-energy, collaborative team and will report to the Learning and Professional Development Manager.
This internship is for a January 2017 start. Candidates should be able to commit to at least 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and attend training programs for CRA staff with internal and external facilitators; work closely with training participants to ensure successful programming
- Collect and analyze feedback on training effectiveness
- Update the Learning and Professional Development intranet
- Manage the learning management database by tracking program attendance and running monthly reports
- Manage day to day inquiries from our employees – on topics such as our homegrown feedback process, the Check-In, training logistics and more!
- Assist with onboarding training and initiatives as needed
- Process invoicing and travel expenses for the LPD team
- Additional Human Capital projects as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program
- A strong interest in learning and development, training and/or human resources
- One previous internship in professional services preferred
- Intermediate plus knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Outlook
- Ability to execute – a track record of getting things done; demonstrated willingness to take ownership of work
- Creative – approaches problem solving with resourcefulness, willingness to take risks and generate new ideas
- Client oriented – collaborative, responsive, to build relationships at all levels that inspire confidence and trust
- Exceptional attention to detail – able to present and communicate facts, data and recommendations thoughtfully, accurately and in ways that facilitate insight
- Big picture thought process – thinks beyond the scope of the task given, asks questions and offers solutions
