Electrical Engineer
The Rotorcraft Diagnostic System Engineer will design and test rotorcraft diagnostic systems. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully design and test diagnostic systems for aircraft. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt readily to a dynamic environment. Analysis and design activities are performed in an office environment whereas test and aircraft support are accomplished in an avionics lab or on aircraft. Off-shift work, overtime, and travel are sometimes necessary to achieve objectives. The engineer will help develop software for avionic diagnostic systems and diagnostic system test equipment; test embedded diagnostics in aircraft avionics systems; develop test procedures for embedded diagnostic software and perform qualification testing of diagnostic software. Basic Qualifications Basic qualifications for this position include a BS Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related technical field and 2 years of applicable professional experience. An MS degree is preferred. Must have the ability to obtain a secret security clearance. Desired skills Design or test experience with BIT (Built In Test) capabilities in avionics systems is desired. Familiarity with common aircraft data bus architectures and experience with multiple software languages is also desired. Experience developing and executing requirements-based test procedures for avionics systems is a plus. Testability analysis experience is also a plus.
