As part of the Highmark Health Solutions (HHS) Business Operations group, the position will be responsible for turning data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.
More specifically, the position will drive and support all activities related to collecting, analyzing and reporting on HHS key performance indicators including developing dashboards, scorecards, forecasting, trending, tracking results, and executive presentations for the purposes of supporting operational excellence, management intelligence for effective decision-making and overall tracking of HHS performance.
This critical role will consult with cross-functional Highmark and HHS groups and levels to identify data and analytical needs, conduct analyses, review analyses and findings with HHS leadership, facilitate related process/data improvement efforts and develop executive level presentations. This role will also prepare similar intelligence for HHS customers, and interact with customers as such.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. • On a regular basis and as needed, works with various Highmark and HHS departments to collect source data; designs and builds analyses/trending/forecasting reports using Excel or other technology; and publishes metrics dashboards and executive presentations. Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets.
2. • Develops processes, tools and templates to enable efficient, accurate and standardized data analyses and related deliverables; leverages automation to greatest extent possible. Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
3. • Ensures consistency and accuracy of information and reporting by identifying issues and fluctuations with core metrics/KPIs, facilitates changes; research questions; participates and/or leads process and data improvement efforts.
4. Contributes to ensuring that all changes to reporting, processes and procedures are reflected, appropriately documented and that consistency is maintained for team. Ensures the correct first time /quality review processes are utilized and that changes maintain data integrity control processes.
5. Maintains effective communication with internal organizations, external vendors/partners and internal staff. Structures and presents complex subjects in a meaningful and comprehensible manner.
6. Develop work plans to meet deadlines, accurately estimate completion dates and communicate status.
7. Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
8. Other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Licenses/Certifications, and Experience
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Math, Computer Science, Quantitative Business Analysis or related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Problem solving capabilities, critical thinker, able to investigate root causes and recommend solutions.
- 2-5 years of relevant, progressive experience
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology,
- Experience in project management
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma
- Working experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Familiarity with remaining Microsoft Office Suite products
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including lookups and multi-level nested formulas
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to help on-board new team members and mentor teammates with less experience.
