The Opportunity

Each student is assigned to a Career Development Advisor (CDA) who has primary responsible for delivery and coordination of the Career Development program. Advisors deliver a variety of educational courses for credit including, Personal Branding and Professional Career Development. As part of the UG experience Advisors also manage an Undergraduate Internship program designed to equip students with the skills and experiences to prepare them for work after graduation.

The CDA will also partner with faculty, alumni, and student organizations and collaborate with Hult Corporate Relations staff to provide students with a robust set of career development and educational events.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach, with enthusiasm and creativity, core Career Development curriculum.
  • Provide individual and group career coaching and interview preparation to students.
  • Develop and deliver career related workshops that enhance employability skills.
  • Administer, interpret, and share results with students on career, skill and interest assessments.
  • Maintain current industry and market knowledge relevant to the specified program, including international markets for employment.
  • Partner with faculty, alumni, and student organizations and collaborate with Hult Corporate Relations staff to enhance work options after graduation.
  • Maintain student career portal and class information, manage prospective student and intern data in internal career portal, maintain case notes, document student data and activities, participate in gathering employment statistics.
  • Recommend to Director of Career Development additional workshops, assessments, tools, programs that may enhance the student experience at Hult.
  • Participate in cross campus (globally) projects and teams.
  • Partner with academic staff to support the career journey of students throughout the year; act as the single point of contact and continuity for all career advising.

  • Passion for educating, supporting, and inspiring very diverse, international undergraduate students 1-to-1, in small groups, and in the classroom.
  • "Can-do" approach and ability to quickly integrate into a highly collaborative and passionate career development team.
  • Ability to foster positive relations with multiple constituencies and influence others, including globally dispersed colleagues.
  • Exceptional presentation skills in both formal and informal settings including ability to effectively and enthusiastically present to and interact with students in facilitated classroom and workshop formats.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in higher education, human resources or related field typically required.
  • Previous career advisory experience and knowledge of student development and career counseling practices (assessment tools, career planning models, career communications including social media, and job search execution).
  • Strong sense of local, regional and global business and related hiring trends. General awareness of global employment opportunities.
