Application Programmer (Software Engineer)
As part of the Sales & Selections Systems team in Commercial HVAC NAR & EMEA, the software developer will partner with business product contacts to analyze, define, and implement application changes that provide Building Information Modeling (BIM) objects which are used in virtual design and construction, and as-configured product drawings and graphics.
This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys requirements gathering, design, development, user training, implementation, and ongoing support of key business systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Provide application enhancements, maintenance, and support for assigned systems, including security and accessibility.
· Partner with business users, business teams and application teams to understand business processes and requirements, translate them into application requirements, and develop and implement system solutions that improve efficiencies, maximize customer experience, and grow and retain business.
· Manage projects through all phases of the project management methodology.
· Ensure on time, on budget, and on specification delivery of software solutions.
· Actively monitor and respond to technical hardware and software problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall system capacity.
· Define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
· Act as a subject matter expert for assigned systems.
· Communicate with business users, both internal and external to the organization.
· Provide 2nd level support and technical expertise to Support Center personnel and end-users.
· Interface with external vendor support service groups.
· Work with geographically distributed team members, stakeholders, and customers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CS, MIS or related technical field. Associate’s Degree in
IT, CS, MIS or related technical field will be considered with minimum 0 to 4 of IT
experience.
Experience using the following technologies:
-C#, or other object-oriented programming language.
-Oracle Database, SQL
-XML
Willingness to Learn or Basic Knowledge
-Autodesk Revit MEP
Experience with these environments/technologies is a plus: Microsoft .NET
development in Visual Studio Suite, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, Bamboo, Writing
internal AutoCAD code (objectARX, .NET); Autodesk Revit Building Information
Modeling (BIM); UML; Autodesk AutoCAD; Trane HVAC product knowledge.

· Able to translate business needs into system requirements and develop application enhancement/interface specifications.
· Self-motivated, willing to take initiative and able to function effectively in independent and in team based situations.
· Understanding of software development process.
· Written and oral communication skills required with good interpersonal skills
· Project management, time management, planning, organizational, and analytical skills are required.
· Able to work on multiple projects at once and effectively prioritize tasks.
