JOB SUMMARY:
The Admissions Assistant is responsible for creation and maintenance of student records in the college's student information system, including the timely and accurate processing of applications for admission, change of major forms, and other documents required for admission. With an in-depth understanding of college admissions policies and procedures, the Admissions Assistant plays an integral role in ensuring that student records are current and accurate.

Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students.
Experience that illustrates a history of successfully collaborating with co-workers on a regular basis to achieve common goals.
Experience in customer-related and customer service related field with the demonstrated ability to react to customers quickly, accurately, and congenially required.
Experience with computer work, including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and complex data systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manages the daily upload of the college's applications for admission by executing processes in the college's complex student information system.
2. Performs daily data-entry tasks in the college's complex student information system, including processing of applications for admission and change of major forms.
3. Manages incoming student admissions documents by performing data-entry tasks in the college's complex student information system, and ensures that physical documents are appropriately tracked and filed.
4. Assists students and staff on the phone and via email with questions regarding student admissions files.
5. Assists the Director of Admissions with acceptance processes, including but not limited to changes to student admission status, start term, and residency status.
6. Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and inactivation of electronic and physical student files.
7. Processes the incoming and outgoing mail for the department on a daily basis.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
