The Office of Admission of The College of New Rochelle invites applications for an admission Counselor to recruit students for our traditional undergraduate programs in our School of Arts and Sciences and our School of Nursing, and this full-time professional staff level position is available immediately. The Admission Counselor is a key member of the admission team and will recruit, select and yield the undergraduate classes for the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Nursing in support of the College's and Schools' mission and enrollment goals. To that end, s/he will build positive educational partnerships and working relationships with high school counselors, athletic department coaches and staff, and admission staff at local community colleges and universities; reach out to prospective students to assist them to effectively navigate the admissions and enrollment processes and ensure that they meet critical deadlines; and counsel prospective students and their family members about admissions criteria and other critical factors in the educational decision process. The Admission Counselor will follow through on communications and correspondence and assist the team with open house sessions, orientations, and programs at high schools and the community at large.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree, be highly motivated, an effective, empathetic and engaging communicator, and resonate with the College's mission. S/he will have a track record of meeting/exceeding goals and deadlines, sound judgment, and be highly organized. Proficiency in database systems and social media is required. This position will require local and long-distance travel and non-traditional work hours, including evenings and some weekends. In addition, the incumbent must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
